Expectations on business leaders are higher than they ever have been. According to the Edelman Trust Barometer, young people today do not trust establishment leaders. That means we’ll call that political leaders. They trust a little bit more, not much more, but a little bit more business leaders. That is why we put so much responsibility on business leaders, because we feel that they are still the best solution to today’s problems, whether they are or not, and can be most effective or not is a conversation for another day.
But it does mean that eyes are on you business leaders. Expectations are high and accountability is being placed on you. Whether or not you’re gonna take that accountability is another question.
